“I have purchased and tested the two products below:
Audikast 4
C82 Aura
Early finding:
- Easy to setup
- Good sound quality
- Good value for money
- Distance transmission not as good as I expected e.g. I would lose connection from both, if I went to the front door or my downstairs toilet which is some 10m away (I have very thick internal walls in my house)
- Administration was logical i.e. connecting to different Auracast broadcasts, although a bit of a pain going into the Oticon app each time to change between broadcasts (meaning I had to have my mobile with me all the time), whereas the Oticon Easy LE Adaptor automatically connects each time without the need for my Oticon App (following the initial setup).
I found the Audikast 4 for my TV was particularly beneficial and impressive, but that is probably because I already had the Oticon Easy LE Adaptor, so the C82 Aura was not much different in its capabilities (but the C82 Aura is about £20 cheaper than the Oticon Easy LE Adaptor, so a better buy for someone starting out).
All-in-all a good experience. I would recommend both items to any Oticon Intent 1 user.
UPDATE:
“Just one issue I have found with Auracast in general & Samsung Galaxy Android phones (not specific to Avantree Auracast) is the problem described below. I have tried the options suggested with mixed success. Currently the one that seems to work is option 3. the Bixby Routine option where you automatically switch off Bluetooth and turn on Auracast when in each location (e.g. my Home). Not great but currently seems to work. In other words when I’m in my Home location Bluetooth is automatically turned off so you get no notifications via your Hearing Aids and Auracast is turned on. I’ll keep testing.”
